Sopore police while continuing its drive against drugs, today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 588 gms of Charas from their possession. A police spokesman said that acting on credible information, a police party of Police Post Fruit Mandi laid a naka at Fruit Mandi Crossing Sopore under the supervision of D.O. Dr. Yasar Mehmood. "During naka checking, a vehicle bearing registration number JK04-2423 was intercepted. During search 588 gms of Charas recovered from two persons who were identified as Tariq Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat resident of Krumb Hura Handwara and Bashir Ahmad Dar son of Habibullah Dar resident of Wasi Khura Handwara who were boarding the vehicle" police said. The vehicle has been also seized. Accordingly a case FIR number 12/2018 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered and further investigation has been taken up, the official added.
